A bit of a working discipline, cheaper worker force and the comfort of an home environment will add to productivity for any organization intending to outsource expensive manpower in high human cost economies.

Working on the internet, does lack human sentiment and thats a price one will have to bear with.

Internet certainly is the future of work. Why do we even need to hop over to the workplace when everything that needs to be done can be done in the comfort of our homes. With transport becoming costlier as oil prices are skyrocketing, it is just a matter of time before home offices become the norm across the world. The change has already begun.

Companies have been using virtual worlds for some time to do these things, not just marketing. Remember, though, that it’s not all Second Life, and that most virtual worlds are still for kids. It will be exciting to see the different uses individuals, educational institutions, and companies come up with these technologies.

I don’t find it all that surprising. There are just too many good resources on the world wide web for everyone to know about all of them. I do see what you mean though, it’s only going to become rarer that people don’t know about these great tools.

I think education would need to be the first thing that changes in two folds. Work place education and mainstream schooling.

With the advent and popularity of the internet, cheaper PC components and faster performing machines I think the Work place would be very different in 10 years time!

We would be taught how to handle the ’office’ in our homes and our education would revolve around the PC and its relation to the development of the World.

Scary thoughts but if it pays me, why not!

The dawn of digital technology probably has not yet sinked in to the Egyptians. Advancement brought about the the Internet age has currently been a way of life in our global connections.

But I guess Egypt is not the only nation missing the point about Internet. Many other countries need to be taught about the value of how the Internet world works in modern-day experiences.

It also offers more job opportunities for those who, ten years ago, couldn’t do. It is the holy grail for businesses, and people alike.

Also, yes, I do believe in years to come almost 25-35% of workers will be working within their homes instead of offices which is a major leap for the WWW. I, for one, will be one of those people because I live in a secluded enough spot to know that spending $100+ on gas every week is just not worth it in the end.
