In some bizarre effort to gain support for its fumbling leadership, our beloved Labor Government (UK Government for those of you living in a cave for the last 10 years) has always tried to be on par with US policy and law makers. Backing (and rightfully so) the US assault to crush Afghanistan the UK Government then decided to also back the defunct effort to take Iraq. Now proving to be the thorn in both US and UK Governments policy and tenor as power houses.

Post 9/11 and every law enforcement and intelligence agency in the US and Europe were scrambling in order to catch up with the many ’sleeper’ cells that awoke the day the twin towers fell. America seemed to be on its knees and as a result the agencies were given every right to detain someone without need for warrant... all you had to be was suspicious.

Recently, the UK Government is “expected to table a last-minute compensation deal to help push through the proposed 42-day detention without charge of terror suspects“. The compensation deal being a promised 3000 Sterling a day after the current 28 day mark. Now I will be honest here and say that this is just absurd!
